Hi. Just listened to episode 3. Great show guys. GARO is a great show. You should watch it from the entire 1st season to the two specials to Red Requiem to the 2nd season in order. It gets better after the 2nd episode of 1st season. The development is there and I will not spoil the storylines and appearances in both seasons. You will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the kind words Kid Flash! I have watched the first four episodes of Garo, and though it is slow to start, it picks up the pace rather quickly after the first episode. I haven't finished it yet but I am looking forward to watching more. Also be listening for your shout out next week!

I wanted to listen to Episode 3 again and write down my comments while I did...but my computer had other plans. So here are the thoughts I can remember on Episode 3. When you talked about the new Kamen Rider, you brought up the fact that they gave away too much in the plot synopsis, and I honestly feel that they give away far too much on their movies anyways. For example, watching Go-Busters, they advertised the Tokyo Enetron Tower movie for weeks upon weeks in the closing credits, the different clips that they would show, combined with the plot summary that we all read gives away most of the movie. Plus, they always use the final shot, like they did for Super Hero Taisen, they showed the Go-BusterOh with the drill, which gives away the whole movie and robs it of all the tension. Wizard EP 8 I thought was pretty good, though it really picked up towards the end with him fighting Phoenix. I kind of personally wanted Haruto to show more emotion though, he's watching a boy relive what he had to endure towards the end with the mother getting "killed", and all he really does is calmly Henshin and fight. I also liked that they brought up some more of his past, because I feel like he has a lot more behind him, and showing this was a step in the right direction. Something that they did well at the end was convey the fact that Haruto was clearly flustered and in panic mode with him casting those defend spells one after another. The preview for the next episode does bring me back to Toei and giving things away, perhaps this is just me being anal about things, but showing Wizard's new form annoys me. I know if I were a child, I'd tune in to see what the stone does, but I guess showing the new form would make people tune in to see what it could do. I am almost to EP 35 of Go-Busters, o I'll get to that next time. Finally, I'm in love with Garo, I've only gotten three episodes in, but I found the first episode to be a very good opener to draw you in to the show. It established what the villains are, as well as gave us some things about the hero that entice me to watch next week. Plus, the action was awesome and Garo using the girl as bait shows that he is cold, but he does seem to hint at having a fondness for her. Overall, I feel that the show has a bit of an anime feel to it, because the pacing is pretty decent, the fights are mostly fought between the characterin civilian mode and the horrors. I also think that perhaps that darkness that is there as well as the fight choreography was well done and was not too over the top, like Toku shows like to go. It was a man that was trained with a sword versus a demon, which sounds like something that would come more out of an ankle than a tokusatsu show. Overall, I really enjoyed your show and can't wait for this weeks' show. By the way, saw a otaku dream on ebay that was 1500 for over 50 classic PR items in box, including the components for the first three ultrazords. And do you guys plan on covering PR anytime soon?

Another great show, fellas. Thanks for the shout-out as well.
As for the episodes this week, Kamen Rider Wizard really put out a great episode, and I think that it fixed some of the problems that I had with the previous week. I really did like the fact that the new power was directly tapping in to the phantom that was inside Haruto, that brings a load of possibilities and perhaps even dangers for out hero. I also liked Haruto FINALLY showing some emotion, I thought that last week it was missing, but perhaps that was so that this week it would make the episode that much more dramatic. I think perhaps that the perhaps that small breakdown he had with Rinko in the hospital waiting room was well done, and the combination of a lack of mana, as well as getting his ass kicked made it feel like a natural thing for him considering that he is usually cool about everything. One thing I do have to wonder, since Phoenix has lived up to his namesake, does that mean that he will become stronger? Considering that is a trait the phoenix is supposed to have.
I'm FINALLY caught up on Go-busters, just a quick summation on my thoughts about Ep. 35, it was a good episode, and Mane Li-Oh was the shit. Though I do agree that the whole, "Go-Busters are bad, but at the end, the person understands the error of their ways" really feels like it's done.
As for Episode 36, I felt that it was a fun episode, but it was pretty much filler. I forget which podcast I had listened to, but someone made the point that Yoko only runs out of energy in filler episodes, and that trend continued this time. The episode is one that I think would have fit just as well here as it would in the beginning of the series. I liked the Buddyroids going on strike, and of course Beet J. Stag showed why he's awesome by making EVERYTHING WORSE! Filler like this is the good type of filler, with the plot making side characters show why they're important, and making sure the action is good, and maybe putting an important thing in one spot, like they did with Escape. Overall a fun episode!
I don't know much about either picks of the week. So I'll just talk here about my thoughts about Go-Busters as a whole so far, in my opinion, Go-Busters started out pretty well, the premise was pretty strong, and it had a good villain and a surprisingly dark story. But damn did the show drag, I didn't feel like the main characters were growing much at all and that the Buddyroids were kind of unnecessary. MY feelings on the show changed once we got Masato and Bender. Kind of like how MMPR was better after Tommy showed up, Go-Busters became much better after Jin showed up and the story focused more on him, which worked, because of the fact that he was from hyperspace and knew their parents. He also was/is a more mysterious figure, and a good foil for most of the cast. The hyperspace episodes I liked. The Gavan G-Type episodes I thought were good, but they kind of distracted from the plot in all the spots but the end. It did interest me in the new Gavan movie, but I did not feel like it really helped Go-Busters. it just let it tread water for two weeks, but I guess we are now back on track, and heading into the home stretch of the show with the final 10 or so episodes.
Keep up the good work fellas -Metal Coop

Great episode guys. Thanks again for the shout-out. Go-Lion is great. Own the last episodes on dvd. I have the 1st 4 episodes of Jetman dubbed on dvd. It was awful but it was Jetman and the 1st sentai series I saw when I fully got into toku. The story about the suicide was a few years old in the uk. Keep up the great job.

I really dug the episode, fellas.
Haven't seen the any of the episodes you talked about, but the Ishinomori hero you were talking about with the guitar was Kaiketsu Zubat!
